Creationists, why would you constantly ask for evidence of Evolution?

I'm only 17, so I don't REALLY know all of the in-depth scientific stuff that respected Creationist-Scientists & respected Evolutionist-Scientists debate about. I'm sure it takes years of school, so I'm not going to pretend to know what I'm talking about and say anything about evidence... but from what I've observed - it seems that there really is no tangible, hard proof, scientific evidence for either theory. So, to answer your question, a Christian like me would ask for an evolutionist to provide evidence to "even the playing field," so we could at least have an educated conversation about it.
