Can rabbits die from ingesting diatomaceous earth?

the Diatoms didn't hurt your bunny..... I agree with the previous post... it's used to help animals, not hurt them.... all that good food in the cage, tho, might have tempted another animal, like a ground hog or other varmit... that could have given the bunny a fright...or, if the bunny was a pet for a long time, it might have just been living it's last days happy....sounds like you had a great run and pen and goodies for it.... I don't think you did anything wrong....
