Why do people think that god exists or doesn't?why can't god be a flawed creator?

i constantly hear people stating that god can't exist because god wouldn't do these things if he were perfect. on the flip side i also hear people saying that god is perfect, and we can not understand is perfection. why can't god be imperfect? ( if anyone says "god means perfection", then you are a complete moron, for that is but a simple semantics game. you can just call it a creator).
